Nic and our Lakeside Community

Tragedy struck our neighborhood when the oldest son of Chris and Kim Crews was senselessly murdered while working at a VA Clinic in Jasper, GA in mid March.  But just like Mr. Rogers said back in the day “When tragedy strikes, always look for the helpers.  There will always be helpers”.  This is where our community stepped in big time.  The GoFundMe was close to $500,000 at the writing of this captain’s blog, due to the large outpouring of our lake community and the metro Atlanta area that heard about the news and saw the reports.  I will keep the page up as long as needed and will archive it after that so we can always remember Nic Crews.  Our prayers go out to his wife and kids and they continue their life without Nic.

As Nic is now on the other side looking down on us, let’s keep his spirit alive in our daily lives by giving to others with our time, talent and love.
